A Festival of Christmas Carols was  held on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia, and included a performance (video on right) by our church choir.

This week's bulletin is here.

 Iconostas project

Father Ihor has announced a new church beautification project to restore the iconostas, which dates to the church's construction several decades ago.

The brushed metal frame of the iconostas - now showing many signs of age, including peeling - will be covered with a hand-crafted wooden sculptured veener. The gold-painted wood will be in keeping with many other wooden decorations in the church. The already completed center doors are shown in the accompanying photos. Performing the work is Yuriy Kostiv, an artist from Ukraine with many years' experience restoring iconostas in Ukraine. Our church his inaugural iconostas effort in this country.

Father Ihor thanked parishioners after recent liturgies for their generous support for the project, and noted that all donations will be gratefully received and acknowledge, as always.

Your photos, memorabilia sought for 50th celebration

There is less than a year to go for the parish's golden anniversary celebration, scheduled for Sunday, October 28, 2012.

The lovely Spring Mill Manor in Ivyland, Bucks County will be the setting for the dinner, which will follow a special Divine Liturgy with Archbishop Stefan Soroka in attendance.

The next stage in planning involves seeking out former parishioners who might be interested attending. If you know of former parishioners, please forward their names and contact information to our parish at ukrbvm@gmail.com.

Also, we are looking for parishioners who have photos of parish activities that they think might be worthwhile additions to a commemorative booklet or calendar. Most families must have First Holy Communion photos of their children and the pastor; these would be great additions to our collection. Please e-mail 'jpg' photo images to ukrbvm@gmail.com or joanneelabiak1942@verizon.netIn addition to vintage photos and other memorabilia, we are searching for addresses and updates for founding families and past parishioners.
